Alana G. Kalinowski, MSW (She/They): As the Director of Interoperability & Collective Impact for 211/CIE San Diego, Alana incorporates her background in history, clinical and systems-level social work, and over 16 years of experience working within a community-based organization to her work as a founding leader of the San Diego Community Information Exchange (CIE). Leveraging her expansive understanding of San Diego’s system-level health and social service landscape, Alana leads CIE’s system interoperability and data integration projects. Alana also works with a number of sector-based and cross-sector collaboratives to support system-level collective impact, and strategic use of CIE as infrastructure and a data source to achieve collaborative goals. Collaborative areas of focus include homelessness prevention, housing and shelter (local and regional), the LGBTQIA community, whole family supports and financial stability, linkages between healthcare and community-based organizations (SDOH), isolated and home bound older adults, county public health initiatives, and others. In addition to her work with 2-1-1, Alana has done clinical work within the justice system, individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis, and has extensive experience working with older adults, progressive dementias, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups. Dedicated to dismantling systemic inequity and increasing access to culturally sensitive services, Alana strives to bring an intersectional perspective to all areas of her role.
