Angie Esparza comes to 2-1-1 San Diego/CIE with a strong background in direct service such as tutoring, success coaching, and case management specifically supporting folks from historically disenfranchised communities. Since graduating from the University of California, San Diego with her BS in Human Development, Angie has worked in the non-profit sector in conjunction with her local school district to support, advocate and empower students and families in their journeys navigating the social opportunity systems in San Diego. Most recently, Angie served as a member success coordinator where she provided comprehensive resource information and referrals via a variety of channels in English and Spanish for thousands of community members in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles County, Summit County-Colorado, Gainesville-Florida, New York City-New York, Detroit-Michigan, and various New Mexico counties. Angie hopes to continue exploring the intersection of social services and technology to push forward people-centered and equitable work.
In her spare time, you can find Angie hiking, hammocking, reading by a lake, or playing one of her instruments (guitar is her personal favorite!)
