CIE Summit FAQs

At CIE Summit 2024 we will host sessions in breakout tracks tailored to the different stages of building a CIE:

System Build Phase = Designing or beginning to establish concepts for CIE or plan for CIE
Launch Phase = Deployed CIE with a small set of partners
Scale Phase = Growing CIE network and infrastructure

You can easily find the level for a particular session on the agenda. We welcome both new and returning attendees, but everyone should be generally familiar with the Community Information Exchange model.

The CIE Summit 2024 will be hosted in hybrid format. In-person attendees will have access to keynotes, breakout workshops tailored to various community stages of building a CIE, and plenty of networking opportunities. We are unconferencing this year to provide attendees with enriching content to engage with one another.

Virtual attendees will have access to live stream keynote speakers and lightening talks. Breakout sessions will feature at 30-minute pre-recording + 30 minutes of live, facilitated discussion. Virtual attendees will learn together during the breakout sessions; there will not be phase distinction. We have some great speakers, sponsors, and are offering access to the event virtually to reduce the financial and time burden on attendees who would rather join remotely.

If you joined us for a past CIE Summit, you may use the Whova attendee profile you already created. However, you will have to join the CIE Summit 2024 event using the same email you used for the previous Summit.

A one-year CIE Ambassador Membership includes the following benefits:

  • Members-only networking event during the CIE Summit with hosted beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres
  • Broad recognition as a CIE Ambassador on our website and in our communications materials
  • Priority registration and discounted rates for CIE Summit 2025
  • Access to quarterly CIE Networking activities and new resources
  • Opportunity to collaborate with the CIE National Team on policy efforts and joint funding opportunities

All live-streamed keynotes will be recorded and posted on Whova. Recordings will be available after the event in the mobile app and web app.

In-person breakout workshops and networking activities will not be recorded. As we are unconferencing in 2024, these sessions are intended to facilitate engagement with colleagues also building a CIE and intended to inspire ideas and momentum to move your CIE forward. Sessions will be interactive formats, not easily captured in simple recording formats.

Yes! Copies of session presentations will be available for download in Whova. Suggested reading materials for sessions will be available in the Whova agenda.
