Summit Spotlights - CIE San Diego

WE'RE

VIRTUAL!

AUGUST 12 - 14, 2020

SPOTLIGHTS

We All Own the Problem and We All Own the Solution

Current public health crises including the COVID-19 pandemic, racism, and police brutality underscore the importance of multi-sector collaboration and data sharing to achieve health equity and healthier communities.

Core to the equity theme of this year’s CIE Summit, the event will:

  • Host open discussions on the impact of inequity and how to lead with inclusion;
  • Explore community-based approaches to building a CIE;
  • Incorporate thoughtful strategies for activating community voice; and
  • Emphasize representation of diverse perspectives to inform CIE design, implementation, and data collection.

Community as a Catalyst: Using Equity to Power Collaboration

Join thought leaders Dr. Rhea Boyd and Dr. Rachel Hardeman for a dialogue that will explore the power of using community voice and inclusivity to advance multi-sector data sharing. Building on critical concepts from Stolen Breaths, their article recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Drs. Boyd and Hardeman will discuss the impacts of concurrent and compounding public health crises—the COVID-19 pandemic, systemic racism, and police violence—on the CIE Movement.
